A matter of ethics

A matter of ethics is meant to be controversial.  So if you get you angry – or sad – or frustrated – or bewildered about the politics – we have achieved our intention. We won’t spoil the story by giving too much information here, but admit we would be surprised if it is not a subject you have considered at least once in your life. And if you haven’t – well it will certainly figure sometime soon.

Enough of the puzzle. Why not click on A matter of ethics here, and see what your reaction is to the story.  And depending on your reaction – you may like to consider it in the light of our first ever podcast Wheeled  Prison, or for that matter, it could have been a much better resolve for Tea with Mrs. Bradley.

The Carpet Saga

The Carpet Saga is in our Life in the Slow Lane Series. These little anecdotes are usually representative of the small, frustrating or irksome things that come and go in life, and are then forgotten. While this story dates back a good many decades, there are probably many people today who will identify with something very similar. So tune in and take a little retail therapy with ‘The Shoppers from Hell.’

The Gift

The Gift is the first story in our  new series for Young Adults, and we are delighted to introduce Olivia Turner as our first young reader. (You can check out Olivia in our Rogues Gallery.)

Isn’t it wonderful how young people can manage to get things completely back to front, while at the same time utterly convinced they are right. This is an old, old fashioned story with an old-fashioned message, but it fits perfectly into our world of today.

Inspiration came from both the 1968 movie, To Sir With Love, starring Sidney Potier, and Lulu and the evergreen O’Henry short story The Gift of the Magi

The Sound of Silence

The Sound of Silence. The FastFictionPodcast team is delighted to be able to finally release our fully dramatized story, The Sound of Silence. It’s a powerful story, and sadly very much part of our times. Maybe there are a few warnings to take on board – but we will leave you to find them yourself.

And please remember to give us a review when done; iTunes would be wonderful, but if not, we would like to find ourselves given a tick of approval on your own favorite platform.

See no Evil

. One of the traits of the Three Monkeys. We continue into the last week of the Australian holiday season with a beach story. Short and Sweet. Or is it?  We have a beautiful beach, a handsome man, romance. What could possibly go wrong?  Enjoy.

Note: On our last post we promised you the dramatic Sound of Silence. Apologies. It will definitely come next post.  We just thought we would keep the holiday mood going as long as possible.

Keeping up with Mr. Jones

Keeping up with Mr. Jones is better described as a yarn than a story. Not ‘a shaggy dog story’. By tradition, they are long and multi-directional. This is short and focused. And keeping in line with the season just past, leaves a nice warm fuzzy feeling with you as you come to the end of the simple tale.

We introduce a new reader to fastfictionpodcasts. Trevor Bell first appeared in A Day Too Long, and later, An Ordinary Couple. Keeping up with Mr. Jones is his first narrative, and we think his voice is ideal for yarn spinning. If you want to know a little more about him, go to the Rogues Gallery.

While we like to think this is a ‘nice’ story, our next one will be ‘nasty’. Indeed, The Sound of Silence may keep you awake at night. So ensure you sleep well before we release it. Take care.

The Straight Line

The Straight Line is a perfect podcast for the first day of January.  A day when resolutions are made and people look forward with good intentions for the following year. But this little story isn’t really about resolutions, although it does relate to new beginnings. And that’s all I will say, other than a strong suggestion you stay right on to the end. Because, although we have listed it in your LifeInTheSlowLane series, it will certainly make you think. Which is an excellent habit and past-time to undertake all through the year, as well as the first day.
