The Golden Girl – Part 4. Conclusion

The Golden Girl – Part 4 is the conclusion of the life story of Margaret. In many ways, it is also an overview of life for two couples, during the 40-year span from the 1960s through to the 1990s.

Having started with so much, and finishing with so little, we now gain a glimpse of the motivating forces that pushed this story to its conclusion. Perhaps we can use it as a cautionary tale. But it’s up to you, the listener, to delve its meaning.

The Golden Girl Part 1

The Golden Girl Part 1 is almost two parts in itself. It begins with a friendship that almost comes to an end on the most crucial of days. But survives, only to falter again, at the worst possible time.

Keeping up with Mr. Jones

Keeping up with Mr. Jones is better described as a yarn than a story. Not ‘a shaggy dog story’. By tradition, they are long and multi-directional. This is short and focused. And keeping in line with the season just past, leaves a nice warm fuzzy feeling with you as you come to the end of the simple tale.

We introduce a new reader to fastfictionpodcasts. Trevor Bell first appeared in A Day Too Long, and later, An Ordinary Couple. Keeping up with Mr. Jones is his first narrative, and we think his voice is ideal for yarn spinning. If you want to know a little more about him, go to the Rogues Gallery.

While we like to think this is a ‘nice’ story, our next one will be ‘nasty’. Indeed, The Sound of Silence may keep you awake at night. So ensure you sleep well before we release it. Take care.

An ordinary couple

An ordinary couple: This little story has a subtle undertone.  It begins with a simple accident leading to a visit to a friend. Here our key character makes an extraordinary discovery. which will change their friendship for ever.  The moral of the story once again  is – Sometimes people you think you know best, may turn out to be those you know least.

This will be the last podcast before Christmas. So we take this opportunity to wish all our listeners a Merry Festive Season.
