Prison Wrap

Prison Wrap is a story about MailMan Mick, a long-time prisoner of Beaconsfield Penitentiary, and his stoush against Warden Stacy. We can tell you that Mick wins, but how he does it is most unusual – and efficient. What is more – it will never be spoken of by staff or prisoners alike. You, the listener, maybe the only one who knows what really happened in those three minutes, that will never be forgotten by all who witnessed the event.

In 1939 Miss Joyce Grenfell created a delightful parody of children at play. She took the part of a kindly but harrassed Kindergarten Teacher, who talked to her imaginary class of tiny tots.  “George, Don’t do that” became a series, a book, and eventually a solid part of her television career. This original piece was inspired by Miss Grenfell.

Saving Rhett Butler

Saving Rhett Butler

Saving Rhett Butler comes from a published short story entitled “The Killing of Rhett Butler”.

Strangely enough, both titles fit, but it depends on your point of view, and how you interpret both the story – and the ending.

We have some fine new actors joining the fastfiction team, and look forward to hearing more from them soon.  Enjoy!

Homestay

Homestay was written quite a few years ago, but sadly the underlying messages are still valid in today’s world. And yes, there is more than one. So this little story may well – MakeYouThink.

Homestay is a popular way for overseas students to learn the English language and assimilate into local customs in Australia. Like most things dealing with mixed cultures, it has its highs and lows.  This story has both.

Whatever happened to Joe Godot?

Whatever happened to Joe Godot? is a new version of an old idea.  It’s too tempting to ignore a playwright who admits he has no idea what his own play was about. And this was the case of Samuel Becket’s confirmed 1949 masterpiece, Waiting for Godot. So, once again, we’ve come up with an idea of our own.

Anzac Day 2021

Wheeled Prison: Australia’s tribute to ServiceMen occurs on Sunday, 25th April. Four years ago FastFiction released its first episode entitled Wheeled Prison and introduced the series Makes YouThink. It recognized not only the heroes, or those that fell, but all those who return from war, forever affected by the experience.

We cannot say “Enjoy”, but instead ask that you “Think.”

Thankyou
