The Book that stole 2011

The Book that Stole 2011. When I first decided to produce the in-depth stories behind the 2011 Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley floods, I had no idea what was awaiting me. My own personal journey from beginning to end would take me through the horror of other people’s lives, as well as a multitude of near-catastrophes of my own. It concluded in a nail-biting last 24 hours, with me trying to get the manuscript to the printer. I invite you to time-travel back to that year, while I take you through the highs and lows of being an oral historian.

The Good Die Young

The Good Die Young is a personal tribute to a good friend, a wonderful person, an incredible artist, and a heroic soldier.  As the world is thrown yet again into the chaos of war, we should pause a moment for those who have sacrificed their lives in other combats. While this story is about one man, he represents so many who suffered before him, after him, and will do so in the future.   Sometimes we do not see their pain, yet in this case, the mental and physical suffering was captured by the soldier himself, Trevor Lyons. It is conveyed in 23 sketches which, once seen, will never be forgotten.  Please go to https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/C229056
