2020 Compilation

2020 Compilation is simply a few excerpts from previous shows this year.

There are few who would disagree that it has been a difficult year – yet it has not been all bad. FastFiction has found some new friends, both here in Australia, and overseas. They represent new voices, with hidden talents. And the good news is that they will be around next year as well. We thank them, and all our regular voice actors who volunteer their time so graciously. And we thank you, our listeners. Some of you live in places I’ve visited, and others in places I’ve never heard of until I check our analytics.

And we especially thank Whooshkaa, our platform host, who allows us to broadcast so efficiently and effectively.  Here’s to 2021!

Wanted – New Content for FastFictionPodcasts

If you take note of our Posts you will see that as we go into 2021 we are very close to having published 100 short stories, skits, monologues and plays onto Whooshkaa, our podcast host.  These, in turn are now available on most podcast platforms, and we are enjoying a slow but regular rise up the ranking ladder of Performing Arts.

Whoopee to all of our contributors – and thanks to our listeners and subscribers.

BUT – the Story Storage Cupboard is beginning to look little bare. So we are inviting writers and scriptwriters to join us and submit suitable manuscripts in any genre, and take advantage of our actors across the globe in the USA, UK as well as Australia.

The ideal length is approximately 1,500-2,000 words, the manuscript is character-driven, preferably with a twist ending, and suitable for audio.

Please fill out the form below, or leave a message on the FastFictionPodcast message board.

Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Them Next Door

Them Next Door. Have you got neighbors? Of course you have. If you live in a unit they may be all around you: to the left or right, above and below. If you live in a house they will be either side and across the street.

David Pollard has illustrated his fascination with Them Next Door with a delightful audio drama which may well have resonance with many of us.  Join him as he becomes a curtain twitcher, bearing in mind that he too is a neighbor to – ‘them next door.’ A conundrum? Yes

Mortality and the Detention Class

Mortality and the Detention Class is a personal Reflection from way back to the 1950s in the U.K. The post-traumatic years after World War 2. Although 70 years ago, there were some similarities to our world of After Covid. Like today we were looking for ‘a new normal,’

While kids back then could be considered immature compared to kids of the 2020s, they were not protected against the realities of life, so in some ways were far more mature.

Ace in a Hole

Ace in a Hole is both a simple, yet complex story. It can fit into our CrimeWithoutGrimeSeries – but if so – was a crime committed? And by whom? It is not exactly a contender for our SpouseTrap series, as the couple in question are not married. And while it has a strong element of golf in it – is a little more than LifeInTheSlowLane.
Having told you what it isn’t, why not listen in and find out what is?

The Waiting Game

The Waiting Game is another of FastFiction’s CoProPods. What’s that? Well, it is a co-operative production with contributions from the Hand to Mouth theatre team in the U.K. They are a live-action theatre company featuring many stories similar to our own. David Pollard and Susan Hill provide us with a wonderful pastiche of a marriage that isn’t too healthy. And I don’t just mean the ‘man-flu’.

We last met up with David in his wonderful monologue, Reality Check. (He does seem to play the hen-pecked husband rather well).

And once again, may I remind you that all our productions are provided voluntarily, so a review on your podcast platform goes a long way by way of payment, Thankyou.

The Valentine Day Massager

A Fast Fiction Podcast

The Valentine Day Massager is a new Wannarbee Bond Adventure. You’ve met up with Wannarbee before, with Two Dykes on a Bike, but now we have Julie Hoverson bring her to life in an entirely new persona. A night out on the town starts off well, but as usual, she gets into trouble – then ends up… well, if you’ve met up with Wannarbee before you’ll guess how things work out.

You’ll be able to catch up with Julie, in her own spot, on her website, 19 Nocturne Boulevard. But we hope she comes back to visit with us again, especially if she brings Wannarbee with her.

1942 – Happy Birth-Day

1942 – Happy Birth-Day is in recognition of the 75th anniversary of World War 2. It is also a tribute to my mother, who gave birth deep down in Paddington Tube Station, during a bomb attack. Thanks Mum, it was worth it.

During the next few months, there will be a progression of stories from My Life and Death Diary, beginning of course with 1942. So, if you are interested in a little bit of personal history, not taken too seriously, look out for the cover. And you can always come to this website for a few graphics, to help you understand those days of long ago.
