Saving Rhett Butler

Saving Rhett Butler

Saving Rhett Butler comes from a published short story entitled “The Killing of Rhett Butler”.

Strangely enough, both titles fit, but it depends on your point of view, and how you interpret both the story – and the ending.

We have some fine new actors joining the fastfiction team, and look forward to hearing more from them soon.  Enjoy!

Whatever happened to Joe Godot?

Whatever happened to Joe Godot? is a new version of an old idea.  It’s too tempting to ignore a playwright who admits he has no idea what his own play was about. And this was the case of Samuel Becket’s confirmed 1949 masterpiece, Waiting for Godot. So, once again, we’ve come up with an idea of our own.

Ace in a Hole

Ace in a Hole is both a simple, yet complex story. It can fit into our CrimeWithoutGrimeSeries – but if so – was a crime committed? And by whom? It is not exactly a contender for our SpouseTrap series, as the couple in question are not married. And while it has a strong element of golf in it – is a little more than LifeInTheSlowLane.
Having told you what it isn’t, why not listen in and find out what is?

The Waiting Game

The Waiting Game is another of FastFiction’s CoProPods. What’s that? Well, it is a co-operative production with contributions from the Hand to Mouth theatre team in the U.K. They are a live-action theatre company featuring many stories similar to our own. David Pollard and Susan Hill provide us with a wonderful pastiche of a marriage that isn’t too healthy. And I don’t just mean the ‘man-flu’.

We last met up with David in his wonderful monologue, Reality Check. (He does seem to play the hen-pecked husband rather well).

And once again, may I remind you that all our productions are provided voluntarily, so a review on your podcast platform goes a long way by way of payment, Thankyou.

The Valentine Day Massager

A Fast Fiction Podcast

The Valentine Day Massager is a new Wannarbee Bond Adventure. You’ve met up with Wannarbee before, with Two Dykes on a Bike, but now we have Julie Hoverson bring her to life in an entirely new persona. A night out on the town starts off well, but as usual, she gets into trouble – then ends up… well, if you’ve met up with Wannarbee before you’ll guess how things work out.

You’ll be able to catch up with Julie, in her own spot, on her website, 19 Nocturne Boulevard. But we hope she comes back to visit with us again, especially if she brings Wannarbee with her.

Singing with Jamie Joe

Singing with Jamie Joe is a little unusual. Is it a dramatized reading, a play, or even a mini-musical? While it may be one or none of those things, it most certainly is a tragedy.

Two Dykes on Bike

Two Dykes on a Bike is released to coincide with the Dykes on a Bike Mardi Gras in Sydney, celebrating the Gay and Lesbian Festival, on the 29th February,

Wannarbee Bond uses her P.E. sign to best effect by being a Private Eye/Pest Exterminator. But sadly she doesn’t often achieve[wpforms id=”58″] the intended outcome in either area. In fact, she rarely gets the bad guy, but happily, nearly always gets the girl.

We would love to hear if you liked this “Something Different” story, and there are many Wannarbee adventures ready to come your way.  Too Many Crooks Spoil the Plot … A Tyme to DieDeath by Fermentation, just to name a few.  They were originally released in Bullet Rock N’Roll Noir magazine, which is sadly, now, long forgotten. But if you would like a print copy, please write to fastfictionpodcasts@gmail.com, and we will be happy to send a copy.

Wannarbee stories follow the Mickey Spillane style of Pulp Fiction, which we acknowledge is not politically correct anymore. But as Mickey Spillane used to say, “there are more people buy peanuts than caviare.”  So, grab your peanuts and sit back and enjoy a little old fashioned fun.
